As-built performance
The final stage impact assessment of the Future Buildings Standard. Secondary legislation, statutory guidance published by MHCLG 24 March, 2026 defines as-built performance as being "The actual energy performance of a building once it has been constructed and commissioned, which may differ from performance estimated at the design stage."
The term is also used to describe complete drawings of a finished buildings, though the intention of these is similar and at a similar stage the content and outcome is different. See article as-built drawings and record drawings.
For further information and details from the perspective of performance see performance gap between building design and operation, closing the gap between design and as-built performance, post occupancy evaluation., building use studies (BUS), building performance evaluation, performance in use and more.
